Blog post *not* brought to you by AI!

Thankfully, the oppressive heat of summer seems to be subsiding... for now.... and there are whispers of a frost next week, but we are in Kentucky, so we still have another month of weather BINGO that can go either way but we're all rooting for some real fall weather.

As the year slowly winds down to the end of the 1st quarter of the 21st century, the staff at VIP have continued to mold the chaos that was VIP when we opened into something resembling an organized, functioning hospital! Who'da thunk?! While we continue to hone our craft, we remind each other frequently that we genuinely love our jobs, love working for our clients, and especially love interacting with their pets because we have such a darn good time doing what we do! Thankfully, our busiest days have gone from frantic panicking to cool, smooth, delivery of the VIP experience. This improvement and maturation is solely due to the hard work of the staff learning and mastering our new routines, new software, new equipment, new schedule, and resolving new problems.

VIP is continuing to grow at a steady pace along with receiving client and community feedback that is overwhelmingly positive which continually motivates us to provide the best value to our clients, friends, and family. We are so grateful that our amazing clients are quickly spreading the word about VIP and our commitment to excellence and client experience.

As the hospital has grown and developed, the daily fires we used to extinguish, sometimes with excessive difficulty, have largely disappeared. Thankfully, we've been able to redirect that wasted time and energy towards helping the hospital mature and expand the ethereal gist of our mission statement into the nitty gritty details that provides us a concrete pathway to meet its promise. To that end, we have been fleshing out (with large amounts of help from family members), VIP's protocols, policies, and procedures manual. As boring as that sounds, it is a necessary task so that minimally we can be compliant with professional, state, and federal laws regulations. However, beyond compliance, our commitment to excellence means we must strive to meet more than the minimum standards mandated by law. With above and beyond in mind, myself and the entire staff has been involved with crafting our practice management operations and standards so that they are in compliance with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). This organization a leader in the veterinary industry and has developed guidelines and protocols for hospitals that are of the highest quality in veterinary medicine. Although our temporary location cannot be accredited due to physical layout issues, our new facility is being designed from the ground with compliance in mind. That being said, we've already made multiple changes to many different areas in our current hospital where improvements and standardization could be improved upon and we're actively developing and incorporating better policies and procedures. All of this intensive, behind-the-scenes work is to ensure we're delivering top quality medicine and continuing to provide a high-value service to our clients and community.

The number of appointments we see through VIP's house-call service continues to gr0w at a steady pace as well. Our house call service provides the convenience of yearly vaccine boosters and wellness exams in the comfort of your home as well as giving our clients an option for a private, low-stress experience for the deeply emotional end-of-life needs which are provided in the comfort of your pet's most familiar environment during very difficult times.

We also continue to thank our clients for their passionate support of VIP and their tolerance of our shortcomings. We strive to be perfect, but we know we're far from it. We can't promise complete perfection, but we do promise to own up to our mistakes. We can only ask for your grace and understanding when we drop the ball, but we hope everyone knows we will do our best to make it right!

If you've made it this far, thanks for taking the time to read and catch up with us! Take care and have a great day!
